New Birdroom
The Birdroom is on the way!
Stage 1: Concrete Slab painted with concrete paint. 8m x 3m. In the foreground and background are second hand coolroom panels which will form 2 of the walls.

Stage 2: Timber frame and second hand coolroom panels attached to slab. Thanks to Dave Bates for a helping hand. The wombat man is a lot more useful than he appears, especially when it comes to cutting up coolroom panels!
New coolroom panels for the roof.
Stage 3: The roof is now on! Thanks to Dave Bates (again) and Owen (Humphrey) Haddick for their help. It's handy having a 6'14" giant like Owen when you are doing a roof! Sliding door is in and the insulation wrap is on the outside. In the foreground are the treated pine planks that will clad the outside to create the façade.
Stage 4 completed: The façade is now finished thanks to Steve Grech's nail gun. I am not sure how I would have done it with a hammer! Louvre windows are in. Not a lot left to do on the outside. Need to get a skinny mate on the roof with some silicon!
Time to start focusing on the internals - bench, water, electricity. Cages should arrive in March.

Inside
Stage 5 completed: The inside is almost done, the power is on and the breeding cages put together and mounted on the wall. 24 double wire cages giving me 48 breeding cages. The breeding cages are from Stuart Williams - Bird Boxes Galore and cost $60 each. If you are interested in them, leave a comment on the contact page and I will put you in touch with Stuey. The cages come complete with perches and cage front mounted feeders.
Cupboards, sink and water left to go and a few finishing touches and birds should be in the week after the Nationals.
